Merino or much cheaper bamboo tops are a good option - both wick, don't smell and keep you warm even when wet. The downside is they wont keep you as cool as man made fibres .

I've been looking at this recently as I want to do a bit of bicycle touring and would be limited in what I can carry. Something that stinks less, dries fast with the odd wash in a campsite sink would be ideal. Bamboo seems to be significantly cheaper than marino so I might try that first.

Interesting. Possibly not helped by cycling and running to work so the bacteria have got all day to get on the case.

Aldi used to be great for bamboo tops....

However, now any clothing must be medium or bigger if you are male, so any fitted tops are out of the question.
I am not small (6ft and 76kg), but a medium flaps around on me.
Sadly it seems to be catering for the increasing rotundness of the nation as a whole :-(
