Small mobile phone options

I've used then for a few years now as they generally have a smaller version with a roughly 5" screen and not as wide, so they'll cradle in the hand easily. I find then far easier to use than the wife's Samsungs, which may be all singing and dancing, I just find them too big to use comfortably

While it is more expensive than a mid-range android phone, it will likely be supported for. 5 - 7+ years with updates (androids are typically 3 years). You can get a battery replaced for about £70 should you need to in 3-4 years, so cost per year works out a lot lower. It has IP water resistance, which I think is important for runners as we are likely to be out in the rain or sweating onto our phones.

I'm happy to use it one-handed, and I wouldn't say I've got particularly big hands.
Oranj Sep 2021 2:37pm, 20 Sep 2021 2,813 posts	0 Oranj I've got a Motorola G7 Play which is also about that size, maybe a mm or two smaller. Certainly smaller than a 'full size' mobile phone. Bought mainly because I've got small hands, and also because it's a good size for a cycling jersey pocket.

The A10 is still a bit big for me (at least one handed). The oneplus Nord 5G is a bit long, but I noticed that with the Sony Xperia too, I think anything with 5G is trying to offer widescreen, so is longer than I was looking for, although again perhaps a compromise I might have to make. At least they're narrow enough. The Motorola G7 is about the right size, but I'd perhaps want a slightly newer version for "future proofing" purposes.
