We made banging beef curry - very nice! Could only get 700g of beef though, so didn't get the full 6 portions.

I’ve recently bought some liners so will use this next time

Oh dear! We're on our third slow cooker in over twenty years. The first two had ceramic pots but the current Russell Hobbs one is similar to that of a saucepan's coating and makes it both durable and easier to clean.

well the crack in my pot is no worse! I'll wait until it breaks before I replace it :-) they aren't that expensive.

Anyway.... no son is away our pot is a little large for the 2 of us and our freezer a little small.

Is it ok to use it with a smaller pot inside to reduce the volumne?

Yes. It might alter the cooking time slightly, I suppose.
