The insole in my right trainer keeps sliding back inside the shoe when I run. Even if I straighten and reset it before I go, within a few kms it has slipped, and after an hour is has slid about 2cm back along the shoe. So the front of my toes aren't on the insole at all, the back of my toes are over a ridge where the insole starts, and I have 2cm of insole against my heel. They are just the standard insoles that came with the shoes (Adidas Response Cushion if that matters).

I have my first half marathon race on Sunday, and if I screw it up I want it to be my fault, not the fault of my gear! What should I do?
1. I glue it in place?
2. Replace the insoles with those from my retired pair of the same model shoe?
3. Buy new insoles?
4. Buy new shoes? (hopefully not, I think they have ~100miles left in them)

I'd try 2. Then go for a run and see it if works. If not, try 1.

I have had to glue my insoles in place for the same reason.

Thanks for that. I'll try switching them for tomorrows run.

Freshstart - what kind of glue did you use?
