Slidey notifications

Useful Am wondering (demand, demand, demand that's all those never satisfied Fetchies do) if there could be some notification if there is further activity on a blog one has commented on? Not just read, but left a comment? It would negate endless clicking back on the same blog. Would it be hideously complicated?

Purer HTML? TBH, the only reason it still has an anchor tag round it is because of the way I'd done the CSS. Hopefully you can see the merits of avoiding another server trip though?
