Our "tacky" resort was always Blackpool - first day trips from my grandparents house in Wigan, then they moved to St Annes so just next door. Then my sister moved there too so I still visit the area although I don't go into Blackpool itself much any more. Part of the Yorkshire side of my family originally came from Whitby so if we were going to the coast on this side of the Pennines that's where it would always be. As a result I rarely went to Scarborough/Bridlington etc. The other "regular" trip was the Polio bungalow at Burnham on Sea (my grandfather was disabled due to Polio and there was a converted holiday cottage that he could book weeks in through a charity, it was big enough for the rest of the family to go too).

Apart from the accuracy of the seagull bombing, went behind my shades, hit my eye, then out the botom and into my pint! Mrsand mini Nico still laugh about it today.
