NN is correct. The Gel wrapper is designed with a 'notch point' to aid opening. If you tear in the direction of the arrows you will open first time. Tear the opposite direction to the arrows and you will struggle to open.

Too Much Water
I carry my gels in my pocket, then I put the trash of the used wrappers in a freezer bag so my pockets don't get sticky.

Not many bins on the trails I run on.

And if I see anyone drop a gel wrapper in a race I will give them shit until they go back and collect it.

I've used SIS Go Gels in the past; never had an issue with opening them on a training run or in a race.

I once managed to get a gel packet to split down the entire length, from top to bottom, halfway through a marathon. The contents went all over my legs. Not a pretty sight.

I've given up on sports foods / drinks since then.

Evans in Woking has a reasonably good selection of stuff...I get mine from there or the one in Guildford.

The big Tescos stock SIS gels and shot blocks too, but in different places.. SIS gels in the sports aisle, shotblocks in the supplement aisle. They had SIS gels on 3 for 2 recently..

I've done that too jacdaw..went all over my shorts...

Water's not a big deal, though, it turns out.

In fairness, I find Shot Bloks *much* harder to open than SIS gels.

Is it me, or are they stupidly hard to open? I was resorting to teeth and everything the other day, ...
