43.05 FAIL :-(

Was hitting some good splits at the start - 6.29mms then slowly slipped into 6.4/6.5/7.0. Ugh. Why do I try to convince myself I'm a 10k runner...

Good to see you Mick, and James - you are a lot shyer in person than on here ;-)

You can't expect to run a fast 10k if you run a 'fast' 10k in training the night before - your slowing splits are the evidence. Think you're going off too fast also, get some rest before your next 10k :)

I went off at 4.5 :-( then held 6.29 for a good few miles then dropped off. Tempted to just walk Town & Gown Sunday ha

Realistically, I'm never going to be a fast 10k runner so tempted to just stop entering them

blimey, that's quite a decline for a 10k but you obviously have the speed! start off slower and get some rest before your next 10k. If you line up near the front of the pack then that's possibly why you're flying off too fast ;)
