Absolutely. Parsnips (and sprouts?) should have the frost on them. One of the great side effects of trying to eat with fewer food miles is we find ourselves eating seasonal. Asparagus in December is just wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. |

Parsnips definitely should be lifted after the first frost. I usually grow my own but none germinated this year, not one. Asparagus (and strawberries) makes me annoyed in December. |

You actually have to search forcseasibal food. With poly tunnels you can get home grown strawberries right up to November and as early as March...mind you they can be a tad tasteless...one of my winter projects is a huge Strawberry bed...
