Although I assume anyone with a royal warrant has had a plan in place for some time*. And either pre-validated with CR III or ready to remove. Although I guess they could still say 'by appointment to QE II' with an implied past tense.

*If not, someone in the marketing dept is about to be fired.

Royal warrants have to be removed within two years. Clearly they cannot be passed down.
