Nope, I've not been caught napping at a grouse event (in any case, we've not reached the Glorious 12th, either...).

I was out on a long slow run yesterday, in prep for Rutland Water Marathon. 18 miles was the target distance. When I reached about mile 14, I experienced a shooting pain sensation that extended both downwards from my inner thigh and upwards into my side. I walked a bit, then jogged the remaining four or so miles. I took the dog for a hilly walk afterwards, and am walking pretty normally on it today. It's really a dull twinge now.

Without going to see the doctor, or a physio, does this sound like something I should just rest, or would people recommend I get it checked out? I've canned my scheduled training session with my running club tonight, although might do a gentle swim later.

Thanks.

Sounds like a muscle strain. Yup give it a bit of rest while it is a dull ache.
