As the title suggests, this may be a stupid question....

I'm doing a lot of short trips for work at the moment, and obviously like to take running gear with me. However I'm usually hand luggage only and my NB860s take up half of the case. Is there any mileage (ha!) in buying a lighter, smaller pair of shoes for short runs when I'm away? If so, which? Or do I risk injury running in shoes with less support? I'm unlikely to be running any further than 4 miles when I'm away.

Also, can you look at running shoes that are (dare I say it) acceptable for everyday wear too?

Can't you just wear the running shoes for the flight and pack a pair of work appropriate flat shoes in the bag? It won't mess the runners up.

That could work - I could travel in them then. The ones I have are

a. too muddy
b. too big (2 sizes bigger than my usual shoes)

It's the size of them that puts me off wearing them for the flight. I feel like I would trip up. I know that's probably silly since I can run in them....

:) better clean them then. Thanks for suggestions. Might have to buy a pair of Inov-8s though, just in case...
