Da Big Guy
Is it just me or has the price of trainers (Asics specifically) gone up an awful lot? 6 months ago I'd get an old model of Cumulus for less than £50. Now there are either none left or the ones that are there are £60+. I usually use Start Fitness but I can't find much anywhere else either.

I've just paid £70 in the sale for a pair of Asics. Everywhere else they were £90+

Da big guy, I use Start Fitness as well and have thought much the same, but looking around I couldn't find a better deal, especially when you deduct your 10% fetch discount and include the free pair of running socks

I tend to buy my trainers in the sale or look to pick up new trainers on ebay cheap. Certainly the likes of Start Fitness are generally cheaper than Sweatshop / RunnersNeed but I would imagine they will match the price of other retailers.

Yeah, Kayanos are now £140 rack rate which is obscene. Only ever get the last season's model but it's not necessarily easy to find the right size. Runners Need are a fecking rip off. At least Sweatshop do good sales. |

Lightweight shoes have definitely gone up a lot. One of the mean reason I went for them originally it they were always about 50 quid. Now it's more like 70-80. I don't recall there being anything above £120 a few years ago.

Picked up Nimbus for £60 last year which I though was ok. Got Brooks Ghost from Sweatshop for £42 last year .. just think like everything keep looking and make the most of the sales. Or just buy lasy years trainers.

Inflation ? Rising/high oil prices ? People who make the shoes being paid a decent wage in decnet working conditions? ( somehow I doubt it) |

Oh no! Just ditched my old shoes on the basis it won't cost too much to get a nice shiny new pair!
