I fancy new shoes. However, I don't fancy paying for them what with my birthday and Xmas careering towards us.

Now I could just request a new pair of the same shoes I've always worn, but I want a change.

Are there any national chains that will give me a shoe fitting and all that, but not charge me for it or insist that I buy shoes? If they were to charge me and give me a voucher, that will be fine. That way I can get sorted for shoes and panhandle my parents for the money later.

Otherwise its a trip to Maidstone and a visit to Sweatshop with them in tow, and by the time I've got to Maidstone from Grimsby I might as well have bought my own bloody shoes.

For quite legitimate reasons, a voucher's no good to me.

By "Charge me and give me a voucher", I mean "make a charge for the fitting refundable against a future purchase from the store on an unspecified date in the future"

Cheers Joopsy. Not been to Lincs Runner since Metres to Miles opened in Epworth. I believe that they've moved nearer to St Marks' as well, right? I'm sure I can bribe my wife to let me visit with the promise of either all-you-can-eat Chinese, or cake at Cafe M.

Deegee, yes, they are only 2 mins down the High St now from St Marks. I will be in there next week and wil ask but they sell gift vouchers so I am sure if you bought a couple they would so a gait test for you. Just make sure you ask in advance as they don't do them every day.
