We normally go shopping on a Friday night but due to commitments tonight we set off for Sainsburys last night instead.

About 2 mins into the journey I realised I hadnt brought my wallet, but it was OK, Mrs Axe had her card with her.

Once in Sainsburys and just past the Fruit and Veg I realised I was maskless (still compulsory in Scotland). Not only had I forgotten to put it on, I hadnt even brought one. No one had challenged me and Mrs Axe hadnt noticed either. Luckily she had a spare with her.

Then I went to the checkout while Mrs Axe went off to Customer Services to return a few items. Shoping scanned and bagged and I realise I have no means of payment and Mrs Axe hasnt returned. I have to phone her to get her to come over and pay while annoying the customer behind me.

[Depending on what phone you’ve got adding contactless payment to your phone would solve that one Baz. I hardly ever use the physical card anymore]

Had some apple crumble ready dished up for a microwaved second course on a kitchen counter, next to some soya chunks and minced onions in a bowl that were ready to add to a stew in the making. Oddly enough, they looked rather similar. Nearly added the apple crumble to the stew. Could have called it a medieval vegetarian stew, I suppose.

That's an interesting culinary idea.

Have to say though: microwaving crumble - that's barbaric!

You know that standard senior moment thing where you go in a room and as soon as you're in you forget what it was you went there for in the first place? I think I've discovered the 21st century equivalent. That is to open a new browser window on your computer and then wonder what it is you were going to Google.
