Mrs WM plugged her ipad into the wall socket to charge it - a little later she decided it might charge better if she switched the wall socket on as well.

WtnMel, that is also a weird British thing - to have on and off switches in case the electricity falls out by mistake. I regularly forget to turn them on.

[ITG - I appear to be the wall socket monitor as I often have to switch off devices that have finished charging too]

You don't want electricity seeping out at will, just think of the bills, let alone the environmental impact.

Before setting out on a shopping expedition I ran through all the things I needed not to forget - pound coins, car keys, bags, loyalty card, credit card. This in the hearing of my wife.

When I got to the shop I realised I had forgotten both the shopping list and my phone.

I redeemed myself by remembering everything on the list apart from one item that was just 'nice to have in the back of the cupboard'.

Well remembered Chris!

This morning hubby heated water up for coffee, microwave beeps, and he went into his office for a meeting...not making his coffee! Just now, he asked where his coffee mug was, only for me to ask him to check the microwave and he found the water that he heated up this morning!

That's the benefit of making a list - writing it down embeds it in your brain.
