Kirkintilloch 10k on Thursday, 3 years since I did it last and my memory is terrible.

Does anyone know the current surface of the canal path for the 3 or 4 miles west of Kirky ? Is it tarmac, or blaze, or just dried mud which turns muddy and full of puddles if wet ?

It was all redone at Kirkie - before the last time you ran it, which is also the last time I ran it. Compressed surfacing on top of asphalt. I don't think I've been that far this year, but it was fine the last time I was there and certainly the same surfacing further along is still good.

I did it last year, in atrocious weather conditions, and the path was fine even then. Definitely a road shoes race. I'll be there as well, think it will be my 4th time. Anyone else in for it?

Hi all, not sure how many of you may have known Hamish Cameron of Forres Harriers. Sadly we heard of his death last week. He was former club sec, and also Sec of the North cross-country league
