I'm doing Aberden Parkrun tomorrow, where's the best place to change, I'm thinking Aberdeen Sports Village or the climbing wall place, thoughts?

Glad I set an alarm on my phone to enter black rock as totally forgot. Anyway, I’m in now, phew 😅 who else will be there?

I'm in! Went out for a 7 mile run, and got back at 7:14. First thing I did was log on to Entry Central to see if there were still places - only 110 left at that point.

Assuming I do the Meadows on Wednesday night, that will be my third race in as many days. What could possibly go wrong.

I’m just glad it’s not the same weekend as EMF this year! Always such a fun Friday night :-)

Sellt oot!

Had a look and there was one place left ... and it's gone.

Once again I have successfully not entered Black Rock :-)

Ah, you are coming to Falkirk parkrun, Deinonychus - on a day I'll likely no be there (mission elsewhere). Our paths may cross at Corstorphine instead.

I have a committee meeting in Falkirk that morning so thought I would do the parkrun first, as it’s been a while since I’ve done it. Will look out for you at Corstorphine though.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
Anecdote from the Fling which might amuse those familiar with Scotland's other, other national drink:

At the Balmaha checkpoint I greet a couple of friends who are manning the refreshment table. One offers me a bottle of Buckfast, which I take a healthy slug of to the amusement of others around.

Some miles later a group of several runners meet four or five young gentlemen staggering up from their lochside campsite, looking more than a little the worse for their Friday night refreshment. One generously offers us the remains of his Buckfast bottle, which we politely declined. It's important to obey race rules and not accept outside help!

I can vouch for the positive effect of the legendary tonic by the way, several lochside miles went by with me feeling much better than in the earlier stages of the race.
