Do you think having London on the same day didn't help?
See A few people saying the medals weren't very inspiring (thank goodness I did it last year) and also saw one post of been given a 10k medal for the half and someone else say they had a medal for an English race :-(

Maybe the thinking behind it was, if you didn’t get into London, do Stirling?

I totally agree with all the comments. I can’t understand why we had coloured numbers but were all shoved into the same pen!!

The finish area lacked any atmosphere and the wee vans etc were so far away I doubt many people went over to visit.

I know they are over priced and not for everyone but I really like great runs but Stirling just wasn’t anything compared to Glasgow or Aberdeen and I just can’t see it lasting many more years unless they make a lot of changes.

Over 400 folk did the Hidden Glen on Saturday, there’s an appetite for races in the area.

Don’t know how hidden glen get that many people along the road to the hotel!

Stirling seemed to not attract a huge amount of club runners for what was the Scottish marathon championships.

I do wonder whether there would be more of a market for an autumn marathon in Scotland - Loch Ness obviously been around for a while and successful year on year, but there is a lot of spring competition from the big established city marathons - Manchester, London, Brighton, Edinburgh (arguably).

Stirling is a good location but public transport in Scotland is dire!

Yes, a central scotland autumn marathon would be a good addition to the calendar. Pointless having Stirling on Same day as london and so close to Edinburgh & manchester for that matter

I think moving Stirling to October would be an idea - the big goal for great run would be to get a Glasgow Marathon.

It would be a shame if Stirling were to stop. If I don’t get into London, I’m thinking of either Stirling or Edinburgh next year, but probably leaning towards Stirling. Although that would involve an overnight stay, unless the buses return.
