I'm glad I was there with my dog a few weeks back when the natives were friendly!

I think the individual concerned was a bit miffed that twice recently he'd been taken out by dogs.

Just read the report. Noo, i like to make friends with the dogs. Who yesterday were mainly uninterested. I did think though as some dogs (having started at the back) passed me, that some were stretching the official requirement of "short lead" quite a bit A dog at full stretch on a canicross tether - is that really "short"? Yesterday's dogs were also particularly vocal so anyone not so well disposed to the dogs would like have had their hackles raised early.

Separately, I was nearly taken out by a non-parkrun dog yesterday with about 100m to go, one of those dithering spaniels with no external awareness.

In first forest section yesterday the first canicross person shouted to me, coming by on the right, that’s good nice and clear and what you would expect. After that, all I could hear was a dog breathing behind me. Couldn’t really look around because it’s a cross country section and you need to be careful. The dog and owner then passed on my left saying nothing. Don’t think that’s right tbf.

Anyone know if Crathes Parkrun is using the proper course or the back up one?

Still using the alternative route, not sure when the other track will be usable again, it is a mess. The alternative route is still great though, can let you know when we are using the proper route again.

Cheers, heading to Luthermuir, so will do it anyway. Can get to it easily enough when the proper course is ready.

I am trying to make it to Crathes next week. But a few things have to fall into place.

Ally-C, if I am running with my dog I will follow someone until it is safe to pass. So you might think the hounds of hell are upon you but it's just an enthusiastic Border Collie.

I was nearly taken out by a non-parkrun dog at Plean. Then I was taken out by my own dog!

Damn, I won’t be at Parkrun this coming Saturday. I’m helping at D33. You will need to come back when I’m there 😉.

I don’t mind dugs at all tbh. Would just like a wee shout on what side they’ll pass.

I might head to Banchory and try and see the D33ers post Parkrun.
