Just returned from my first visit to the Falkirk parkrun. It's a lovely course but those hills at 5k pace are "somewhat" challenging. Very well organized and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I'll be back...:-)

Does this count as a race then, toughmudder.co.uk and has anyone else been sucked into this particular vortex?

RedWineRunner, fingers crossed they'll take your feedback on board. KP, look after yourself. x Gerry, I've done Falkirk parkrun for the first time the other month and loved it - best parkrun course I've done so far (but hard, I agree!). Strathearn Marathon tomorrow, getting quite nervous...

I'll be at Vale of Leven 10k tomorrow hoping to make it a 'not quite last' streak of 3 races in a row Actually probably tempted fate there Maybe next year for Dechmont hope your foot is OK for it jacs205. Why is it all the good races clash? Good Luck at Strathearn SA. GerryO my first response to toughmudder was 'Oh that looks a bit different', second was 'How Much !!!!! |

£1.50 per mile. That's my rule. 10K that costs more than 9 or 10 quid? Forget it! :-)G

Agree with Happy G(rr) however Linlithgow wasn't on last year and they throw in a tech t shirt apparently in the price so I have signed up. £14 for 10k. Apparently most of the money is used to pay off the road closure faeries. Looking forward to Dechmont tomorrow. Without doubt the greatest 10k trail race in the galaxy. And it is 10k this year. Huzzah! |

@Shyfire- yes very expensive, it was peer pressure wot made me do it, honest. You get a beer at the end and the truly inane- no missing S in this word- can even get a tough mudder tattoo. A bit of research on the race last night uncovered that it was the brainchild of a couple of British graduates of Harvard Business school who appear to have turned a mud pit into a money pit. Still, should be an interesting experience...
