Just read back to get the historic Stirling run info- thanks for the pointer Duchess. A run without a clock... can I get my head round that?

Perth Road Runners got used to my (very) sporadic appearances at training nights (shift-based work); I just worry other running clubs might not be quite so understanding...

Inbox now found, checked and responded to Dvorak! Debstir- the Olympians were pretty cool about my six month absence, so you should be okay. |

Anyone tried the Dundee half in recent years? Thinking about entering the full marathon on the same day, any feedback would be great. eventfull.biz |

I did the first (current) one, enjoyed it. The organisers put it together at short notice after the scheduled organisers pulled out. RD shook everyone's hand as they finished :-). Hope to be back this year. So hopefully the marathon wil be done as well. Some people I think were not so keen on the long stretches of the Greenway, not the best in parts tbh but if you are putting a route together sometimes you just have to use what you got: after all Glasgow for example runs through the Gorbals.

First couple miles pretty tough mostly uphill, but you then get this back by a couple of downhill miles straight after. Done it the last two years and it was slightly different route last year to the year before (didnt enjoy new route just as much) Still pretty well organised and would overall say I would go back.Nice finishing at the water front and good atmosphere there. Think the full marathon is an "out and back" of the half route. |

Thanks chaps! The website shows a map with circular course for the marathon. Might be able to scout the route on my bike during the summer. |

Second half of the full Dundee mara could be a bit tough - nice and flat back along the Tay but that's a long slog if there's a west wind, and then the final climb up to Camperdown Park could be a grind on tired legs - certainly sort out the men/women from the boys/girls (delete as applicable :-))
