I was contemplating this Sundays rock n roll half - since it's the first one but £46 quid seems a bit steep and the course looks a bit rubbish.

That is steep - I've still got a place from when I signed up to the old 'Gold Runner' lifetime deal that lasted a whole year! I'll probably run it so if you see me say hello - it'd be nice to meet my geographically closest Fetchie! ;-)

Sorry Jambomo, I'm sure you used to be but I think you might have been ousted! There are a few closer now but you are apparently 0.3 miles away which is roughly the end of my street in either direction! :)

I hadn't seen the who's near you bit before but I've just found it! Yes your only a wee bit away - I am by the Reid memorial church so you could be in any direction lol

I'm hacked off at the rock and roll with this having to go in on the Saturday to pick up your number unless you wanted to pay yet another £5 to have it posted to you after already paying over £40 for the race itself, first and last time for me! Given that at the Ignis in Glasgow they lay on free buses from the city centre to take all the runners and their supporters to the start and also send out free parking/subway vouchers to everyone! Every big race in Edinburgh seems to be run as a way to get as much money out of the runners as is humanly possible, buses at the marathon were extortionate for supporters to get to the end and then for runners afterwards then there were hardly any buses and masses of us gave in and paid yet again for the local LRT bus instead. Moan over, feeling tight today obviously!

just had an e-mail about the 5k Sri Chinmoy in Silverknowes, 16th of May this year. Anyone going for it? Think I was about fourth from last in last years but enjoyed a nice wee romp along the beachside and after my last moaning faced message this race only costs £8!

parkruns

There are 8 regular parkruns in Scotland which are held every Saturday at 9:30am.

Current locations are Aberdeen, Camperdown, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Glasgow, Inverness, St Andrews and Strathclyde.

Updates will be provided if we find out any races are not going ahead.
