Hmm .. just wondering if there are any Highlands & Islands peeps that fancy doing a bit of torch relay running/

Deffoes won't be sprinting it but I will be giving it my best.... probably until Criaglockhart where I will be on my erse.

It will be the furthest I have ever tried to run.

quick shout for a local race on Saturday - Mosstowie primary school near Elgin - host a 5 mile race on Saturday. £4 entry and proceeds all to school funds.

spikeyboy - I was getting worried that I'd be picking the baton up in Shetland, lots of space in the far north on the relay's return south. But at least the leg north of me is now filled. Someone has a tough leg to do in Orkney too, but no-one noticed that all the runners in the islands will be on Hoy for the half marathon!

Visibility is going to be poor if it stays like this, I live 2 miles from Arthur's Seat and I can't even see it with all the mist/rain we have at the moment :-(

Last Sunday at our recce we had mist at the top of most hills and had to battle through the clouds to get to the summit of Arthur`s Seat. Forecast is better tomorrow morning. It`ll be fine :-)

parkruns

There are 8 regular parkruns in Scotland which are held every Saturday at 9:30am.

Current locations are Aberdeen, Camperdown, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Glasgow, Inverness, St Andrews and Strathclyde.

Updates will be provided if we find out any races are not going ahead.
