Thank you, HappyG! I never set out to PB - but then, at some stage, I realised I might be able to go sub-4:30... I loved the Seven Picnics two years ago (Didn't do last year because my companion had to pull out and I would have been lonely on my own.), but didn't sign up this year because I thought I'd barely be able to walk by then. But my legs are feeling surprisingly ok-ish just now. I haven't tried stairs yet - but *maybe* I'd be recovered enough by Sunday? Not that I know the route, mind! And I'm FAR slower than you, wouldn't want to hold you up too much!!! The spread afterwards they had brought up on Calton Hill was fantastic. We were just lying in the sun and eating.

H - I had 7 Hills on my race portfolio for a while and will do it one year, but like you I dont know the route. Ok I could find my way around but I would prefer to have done some recce runs beforehand and also some proper hill training. I have decided againts it for this year and reckon I need to skip edinburgh marathon one year and then use the time after london to recce the route and do some training. My Brother in Law loves this race and came 2nd a couple of years back in the 'challenge' rather than the race, agonisingly being passed on the ascent of the stairs to Calton Hill. |

Has anyone else been keeping an eye on this? endurancelife.com They've just released a whole load of Scottish stages - unfortunately the stages through Aberdeen coincide perfectly with my a work trip to Poland next week I was really looking forward to joining in but it's not even a remote possibility.

That sounds fun, RedWineRunner! Tempted to sign up as my home leg is still free - taking over from Spikeyboy. It's £10 though...

The tenner's for charity though...slightly less galling than the other relay which happened recently who were asking for £52 per leg. I can't remember what it was for who who ran it...I think it was a world record attempt or something? They ended up short of a lot of runners and a few of the Scottish ultra crowd ended up doing massive overnight chunks for free I think.

True. Just that I've spent almost £30 on races in only two months already...

Hmm three stages near me available. I could run past my house! I'm not entirely sure about keeping that pace up on a training run though.

I'm sure you can do it, Dvorak! If I can (after Strathearn and, umm, the Seven Hills), then so can you.
