Right we are staying in the Ibis hotel at Edinburgh Park on Friday night. Any idea the best way to get to Oriam parkrun from there.? We will worry about how to get into Edinburgh after ( there is a tram ) . TIA |

You need to get round the back of the offices and there is an underpass under the bypass. Follow that and turn left and left then head uphill over the Canal and keep going. You will cross a big roundabout with a park and ride and it’s on your right. Maybe a mile or two max. |

Looked at the map and you are looking for lochside avenue I think. You need a bit of local knowledge but that’s the way I would go. The underpass has a little burn flows under just before you get to a set of barriers.

My lunch time run route (on to the canal, rather than over it). Look at any of my run routes from Gyle Park for the path under the bypass. Enjoy Oriam, it's a nice wee trail route.  G

That’s a good shout looking at old routes. I ran the inaugural on 2/11/19 and if you look at my run to oriam you can see the way from the canal which was just after four miles. Hopefully you can see from there and also the route HG would take at lunchtime to get to the canal. I am timekeeping at cramond this weekend but have in my mind a return to oriam sometime soon |
