I've been diagnosed with a sciatic nerve problem that causes most of my lower right leg and foot to go numb. There is no pain, just a strange anaesthetised sensation, escpecially around the ankle.

Rest or keep on running?

A physio suggested my husband keep on running when he got a bit of sciatica. She said running would help strengthen his back muscles, and therefore support and protect the disc that was pinching the nerve and causing the sciatica.

Sorry, was busy when I posted the above & meant to add to it.

Yes, keep on running, but also imcorporate some core work into your routine, a strong core is the answer to sciatica. I had it for years since my accident & suffered terribly. Now I run a bit & do some core work to keep it at bay. I also use an inversion table for when it gets bad, which is very rarely. This works on decompressing your spine & helping re-align it properly. Best £100 I ever spent.

I have no reflexes in my left leg form the same issue
Core work important, yes.Prevention better than cure
if it doent hurtm then fine to run

But, who made the diagnosis, and what will be done about it?

Made by my GP. If it doesn't clear up in a week, see him again. He said I just have to live with it!

My foot (not the sole), and half way up the shin on the outer side. I'm lacking a bit of balance on my right leg thanks to not being able to judge weight distribution on my ankle. Like I said, no pain or discomfort, just numb and it's not a nice sensation.
