Is that the basic snd then they get more the further their contestant progresses? *50k is a lot, but then everyone on TV seems grossly overpaid for what they do, and at least the dancers work hard! Unlike eg John Humphries (Mastermind- asking questions you're given the answers to!)

A couple of years ago, it was decided that the celebs would be paid £30k and the pro dancers £50k for the series. Previously, the celebs were getting various fees as with other reality shows. Tess and Claudia were on £150k and the judges up to £200k. As DWTS pays more, that will be the reason why Len and Bruno are over there. All the fees increase should they take part in the spring tour.
