Hi Mark, welcome to Fetch. My suggestion, until you can do a proper max HR test* is find what pace/ hr you can run at whilst holding a conversation - then run slower than that. 10% or so slower, which will be maybe 7% bpm lower.

"Knowing your max hr and resting hr then allows you to calculate your working hr and use that as a basis for training.

Without knowing anything else, apart from your post, I'd surmise that 150 bpm is very close to your 70% whr, which is generally accepted as the ceiling for easy runs (for a not-unfit male).
