I'd recommend you look at the OMM 10l. It fits my petit women well :-). And is far smaller than 10l would suggest.

The OMM ones are 'unisex', which put me off. Are the OMM and Osprey adjustable so that if you don't fill it up, it's not bouncing around?

I'm another one that has an XA20, I have a damaged shoulder from years of playing volleyball and it sits nicely on my shoulder - would recommend at least trying one on in a shop

Petite women flanker? How many do you have?!

I'm 5 foot 2ish and under 8 stone and my OMM 10L fits me really well (although i do have all the straps as short as they will go), it doesn't seem to matter that it is unisex.

I have a Wink backpack which is female specific and fits me really nicely (I'm 5ft 4 so quite short) it does up like a waistcoat and is really comfortable!

I'm on my second Salomon XA20 and would highly recommend it. I'm about your size, catrina :)

The Osprey is adjustable. Chap in the shop did it for me first time, as there are a few bits you can pull in for fit. Not sure how far you're running to/from work, but I would suggest taking out the bladder and putting your work clothes in the main bit - there are other pockets for 'phone, keys etc. You could then stash a water bottle in the back holder bit. It's quite small (carries a 3L bladder), so I think you could only fit trousers, top and underwear in. Could you leave shoes and a jacket at work?

Hmm, RS - that might be a little small for me after all. Today I was able to stuff a dress and cardigan rolled up, my lunch and a pair of flats into my backpack. I was surprised that it was not as heavy as I would have thought, but on the way home I struggled to zip it up because I had an extra shirt from my morning run and my gloves.

It's 5.3 miles each way. I don't need to bring water with me. I will probably leave a couple of pairs of shoes at work.

Summer is much better - winter is a struggle with heavier clothes!

Totally different q - I was about 2 minutes slower than I normally am over 5 minutes. Is that normal? I'm still recovering from a marathon, so I can't tell if I'm stiff still or it's the load on my back.
