2 bottles of port I keep telling people I do not like it, I do not drink it , I had thought to get the in-laws to drink the small bottle they gave for my birthday this year , but on finding they had sent a large bottle for Christmas I decided not to even try. Running club raffle prizes sorted

Boiler packed in a month ago and had to be replaced. Agreed with the other half that we wouldn't get each other presents and negotiated with most other friends/relatives not to exchange gifts this year (although we did still buy most of them a gift from the kids).

My Christmas haul this year...

1. Jigsaw from the kids
2. Bottle of bourbon and a Tobelerone from my mother-in law.

Actually worked out really well. Wasn't disappointed at all and realised that I get most of my enjoyment from watching the kids excitedly opening their presents anyway.

A large box of Ferrero Rocher (I don't eat dairy). 4 bottles of wine (I rarely drink alcohol). 2 Christmas decorations (why the hell would anyone want to receive a Christmas decoration for Christmas????)

Deck the halls with GimmeMedals
(I like christmas decorations and am happy to get them for Christmas - more memories to add to the tree each year decorate :-))

I don't have a tree! I spend Christmas with my parents and they have a fibre optic one.

A plaque with 'Carol's Kitchen' on it from my husband, my name is Claire. Bad when your own hubby doesn't know your name after 18 years. Luckily the kids spotted it before he wrapped it.

I have one rule at Christmas - "don't buy me pointless crap" it works well. In laws are given a selection of little things I would like including the web address of where to buy it! OH knows only too well that I get cross if he buys me something shit. Clinical but it works. Too much money gets wasted at Christmas as it is.

Bah!
