Well I was a bit gutted when I got round because I was nowhere near a PB, which I thought I ought to be on form for.

Having said that this was my second fastest half ever so I can't really complain.:-)

Well done everyone and thanks to all at the Fetchpoint, and hi to Running Beer and NotBuiltForSpeed who looked baffled when I cheered them near the Wellington Arch.

Oh, and who was the Fetchie who had cramp about 9 or so miles in? Hope you got yourself going again and got round, mate.

Its a hard race to peeb in, lots of very narrow paths and lots of single event runners who can't keep to a 'normal' line.

I might have to enter again next year though :)

Do you still get the wooden medal?

Yes, mate. A leaf shaped wooden medal this year. Oh, and it's got the date on it:9/10/11, which pleases me in an OCD way somehow. It wasn't the crowds stopped me, though. It was a lack of leg oomph.

Never even spotted the Fetchpoint. Too busy worrying about beating the friend I was racing. Took me till 800m from the end to see him off in the end - way too close for comfort :) Fastest time I've managed in over three years, which is reasonably pleasing (even if it does feel as though PBs are history at this distance).
I did enjoy that race - nice route, if a bit congested in places. The humidity was tough today, I thought - not all that warm but hard to cool off anyway.

We were quite a low-key Fetchpoint Badger. Well done on beating your friend ;-)

Made it round, but won't know my time till the chip email comes through as I pressed a wrong button part way round on my watch - d'oh. Felt reasonably good but it was humid wasn't it? The medal is great!

Mertonmum, if you know your number there's a link from the race website. The official times are already up.

Ballot this year - great, or it would be if you were not guaranteed to spend £45 trying to get one ...
