Although when I say I got 26.3, the same watch measured last year's Greater Manchester at 27.1!

Mile markers were a little confusing at times however I was having fun running with "H" so wasn't too stressed about them. My Garmin recorded 26.39 and "H's" recorded 26.31...given that were weren't following the race line and that a Garmin is not 100% accurate I think that's about fair for a marathon.

It really is piss poor how many races make a mess of the mile markers given that it is really not that difficult to get right. After the farce of the two 22 mile markers at Manchester this year I've pretty much given up on using them and trusting the "average pace" on the watch with a couple of seconds per mile added to be on the safe side.

Did anyone else have a problem with the turn just before mile 13? The one from the A60 (London Rd) that takes you to the A6011?

There was no sign to right turn there and no marshall...several of us went past the turning and carried along London Rd. Luckily a couple of runners behind us shouted us otherwise we'd of carried along London Rd into the centre of Nott'm.

I hope that it wasn't short Nelly. strava seems to have a mix of 26.2, 26.3, 26.4 and the odd short one. When the GMM stuff all came out I looked back and there were 25.8's and 25.9's which I had never seen for other races so there was clearly something up

DeeGee - I've had a look at your training log route and you haven't got the bit I'm talking about. Below is a capture of the route map against the route I ran. You can just make out the shape of the path on the bottom image that corresponds with the published route map.
