There was, and still is, a strong network of past members, which included Ron. I was lucky enough to be invited to join him at Heaton Park parkrun to celebrate the 50th year of his streak and have a photo of he and I, one of his sons and a couple of others including Paul Sinton-Hewitt from parkrun. This photo is captured on a mug to commemorate Ron's 77th birthday. A mug to be treasured, not drunk out of!
Non-runner May 2021 3:53pm, 23 May 2021 1,005 posts	0 Non-runner When he was on his ‘run every day” streak he was a regular around West Yorkshire races, he had his name on his back and was high-fived as people passed him (he was over 70 at that point). Was honoured to run the same Apperly Bridge Canter as him one year, I recall he had fallen and was at the finish with bloodied knees, everyone wishing him well.
