Mick n Phil ( OBE )
I have been coping in life quite well,( or so I thought,) been doing a few more events, until today I saw about Stephen Price,( I never knew him as pricey ) I met him many times, we chatted, we laughed, - sometimes it was just a passing hi yu but he never ignored us, - just his presence - around an event, his warming up etc, was I always thought awe striking, you always knew he'd be in the front or damned close to it he's same age as my boys are, I always saw him as a wow kind of young guy, this has left me feeling tearful and gutted - i'd really did so admire that boy so much, I often thought about him, as I do so every day about a lot of people watching him and seeing him race many times as I did, he always reminded me of ( a good few I could name ) that are speeding along, that look as if its so effortless, that they could be going quicker, his stance, his gait, his stride, his everything, just looked ready as he's going to explode any second into a sudden sprint, - always reminded me of the runner, who had far more to offer this is deeply saddening and shocking, I only so hope his wife can find the strength to carry on, I do so hope his child will be ok, my heart and head are hurting at present - rest in peace my son |
