Oranj
I remember making quite a few recipes from his recipe book (the bread and butter pudding was superb!), until a previous Mrs Oranj took it with her. 59 is no age, such a shame.

So sad to hear this today. He was a big inspiration to me over the years making recipes achievable. We were only just talking about the TV/celeb chefs a couple of months ago and how we don’t see many of them now.

Tragic to lose someone so young.

Gutted. Was a huge fan back in the day and yes 59 is no age why ever he passed away :-(

Clive James and Jonathan Miller too.

All three I had a certain respect for, in different ways. Bit of a good (bad!) day for the deathlist :-(

His New British Classics is a lovely cookbook; I once attempted his rhubarb tart and needless to say it was nowhere near as precise as his.

The Yorkshire puddings recipe is thankfully more reproducible and works every single time. A very sad loss.

I'm shocked, so young too. I liked him.

I hope it’s ok to also remember Clive James on this thread. I saw a tweet from Margarita Pracatan so ended up looking up a clip. It brought it all back! His brilliant dry humour and her unique singing style!

Very sad, New British Classics has been the basis for our Christmas dinners for years.
