We have riders in our club who completed previous editions in close to 4 hours. Indeed the organisers had an option to specify a 4 hours estimated finishing time, so to announce this limit with just a couple of weeks to go has understandably upset some.

My concern being in group C is that we will have some of the faster A and B riders starting late and rushing past us.

See they have back tracked on their "mistake" saying 22mph safety car. They are now saying the car probably won't be seen by most riders but under no circumstances must it be passed.

I seem to have put in far too easy a pace and will be starting virtually at the back! My last 100 miler was 8 years ago :-) My next is 2 weeks after RL100! RL is sadly only a training ride for L'Etape :-O

I'm thinking a 'progressive' ride might be on the cards. I shall be mostly passing Victorian ladies in long dresses with wicker baskets on their bikes I think for the first 40 miles.

Just reread my H4H Dawn raid blog from 2014. Actual moving time 5:55, total time 6:34. Of course I didn't realise that the feedstations on RL 100 are neutralise, so a 6:30+ time would explain why I'm so far back at the start :/

I am. Wave C after 2019’s 5.15 total time was hoping for nearer 5, but training has not gone well and am more likely to be around 6.
One cosellation a star is that you don’t have my 6-10 start time
