I preferred the Tommy Banks/Made in Oldstead meal we had to any of the Rick Stein ones, but the Stein ones were fine too. I haven't had any of these since lockdown so don't know what they're like currently.

Well, I don’t think Tommy would have been impressed with our plating up, but it was all absolutely delicious. :-)

If we did it again, we would start earlier in the day, and not cook a course until after we’d eaten the one before. We tried to time it so one was nearly ready as we finished the previous, but we found the cooking a bit stressful, even though Tommy had done all the hard work.

We’d definitely do it again for another special occasion.

Well done. That Beef Wellington looks amazing for one.

Yeah, certainly one (if not both) the deserts I plated up didn't quite look Michelin star presentation!!

About This Thread

Maintained by Fizz :-)
WW and I quite often go away for our wedding anniversary and usually have a meal in a nice restaurant. This year, we’re staying at home, so we’d like a really nice meal delivered.

I know Rick Stein does boxes, and there’s lots of chefs on here dishpatch.co.uk but I’m hoping for personal recommendations from Fetchies that have tried places. I’m pretty certain I’ve read reviews in blogs, I just can’t quite remember whose!
