I wonder what the issue is, possibly complaints about car parking around chane over points. I know that has been an issue with the RNR and changeovers have been moved to prevent problems. Less scope for that on the Turing course.

I thought we were all impeccably behaved, ( except Ted, of course ;-))

Fetchies would have been, Ted apart ;-)

Hard to think of why else they'd have made it just a club event otherwise. As there are no access issues on paths used and the small amount of road used is very quiet.

It is a bit strange, especially as they increased the number of teams after year 1. Unless they decided that they didn't want to have to deal with the race organisation in with other races they organise (not sure how many others they do).

Here is the full 2nd e-mail I got.

Hi
Many thanks for contacting us regarding the Turing Trail Relay.

It has been decided that in 2010 and thereafter, this race will be a closed event for Ely club runners only.
We hope this answers your query, but if not please contact John Turner at secretary@elyrunners.co.uk Best Regards The Ely Runners event management team

Damn shame really as A, it was a cracking, fun event, B, Rod Baron events are impeccably managed and C, I wanted to do it again :(

I am sure they have there reasons and it is up to them whether they make them public.

I'm really disappointed - I was hoping to do this again this year as I couldn't do it last year. Glad I managed to take part once, anyway. Maybe they will open it up again in years to come, and we can all hobble round on our zimmers.

Would it be wrong to suggest Flashmob on the 3rd Sunday in March ;) *innocent*
