That's one of the few books that I haven't managed to finish, I gave up around page 100. Well done for persevering WA!

Did she also write Room, Seren?

That’s right L-N although I haven’t read Room. I got given some random books when I started this challenge and it was one of them

BBL, offer is still open for loan of Dick Francis books - having slowly replaced all my father’s early paperbacks with hardback versions, I have early paperback versions and Nerve should be among them. If you want to fmail your address it’ll fit in a large letter.

Thank you beebop that would be wonderful. I'll send you my address and if you are happy to send it to me with your address inside it I'll return it to you with the cost of the postage of course too.

I am sure that as soon as I do this the second hand bookshop from which I have sourced most of them will end up with a copy on its shelves too! :-)

Currently a Moment of War, Lauire Lee, 3rd in the Trilogy. I was very surprised to see it was published in 1991, so you wonder how much is accurate, really very good though.

I've struggled for a while to find a book for 1977. I have to do them in order. My own rules I've inflicted upon myself. Started many but couldn't get into them. I didn't want crime as the last 2 books were crime otherwise it would be easy

But now I'm reading Quartet in Autumn by Barbara Pym. Never read her before I'm enjoying and it is very thought provoking.

I love Barbara Pym - I suppose she's a bit dated in setting but her observations are as relevant as ever. I'm glad you're enjoying it Owlie!
