Sigh
I don't look at the WAVA League Table, I do look at the Standards and what's required to reach them. In the future, knowing that they may be retrospectively adjusted downwards, I probably won't bother.

I knew nothing about the data set being out of date and agree that it should be updated, but only from the date that the new data set applies. Anyway, I feel like a worn record, so I'll shut up now.

I put it the blog comment, but why not show both values then at least people can choose which they want to align with.

That's a good idea Llama. Then people can choose. Probably relatively easy for Fetch to build too. Might look a bit weird. But then he could have a toggle for one, the other or both then it's up to the beholder to make it look weird. Nice thinking Llama! :-) G

To be honest, although I don’t like losing my 75% WAVA, it’s not really the end of the world! Fetch, I’m not p1ssed off either, it’s just a number :-)

Brilliantly responsive as ever, I've now had a chance to play with the updated and old scorings side by side.

For a 47yo male (today, anyway), the biggest impact for me has been in the 5.5m-HM distances. My biggest change is in HM, with a loss of 2.06 points ath Chester HM last year dropping from 74.55 down to 72.49, with other best performances in those sorts of distances dropping by about 1.8 points. Strangely in the 33m ultra, I've actually improved! Track races are unchanged and 5ks have only dropped by about 0.3-0.4.

I guess I'll get used to my "new normal" as a Marlin rather than a Pintail :-)

I wonder which age groups are most affected by the change - I know when I looked a couple of years ago I "feared" some big changes to my WAVA scores when the new tables were inevitably introduced as it seemed that 40-50yo men over 10k+ distances seemed to be the most affected.

In times for me now, the standards tables look like this for Silver (70):-
New
05:55 20:28 33:34:00 41:52:00 01:08:35 01:30:42 03:11:01
Old
05:55 20:34 34:00:00 42:49:00 01:10:14 01:33:16 03:14:01

If you toggle in your settings between "always use the latest tables" and "use 2010 tables" and refresh the standards page you'll get to see the different calcs. A bit of a faff, but I've archived them off for my own use.
