I love the ballet. It's the Scottish Ballet Company that perform mostly up here and when I worked for 12 years in His Majesty's Theatre I was fortunate to get free tickets for most of their productions. My daughter shares my love and i bought tickets for us both to see Hansel and Gretel for her Christmas last year, though I have often gone to see performances on my own. I prefer traditional ballet to contemporary, though I adore Bourne's production of Sleeping Beauty. I have only seen it in tv and would very much like to see it live. |

Cinderella at Sadlers Wells last night. Final week of this run which is a new production. It was glorious - as I expected - and we felt lucky to see Ashley Shaw in the lead role (I was so impressed with her last year in The Red Shoes.) |

Am daily blogging still but have gone completey private for a while. Not sure why I'm just funny like that! I'll probably 'publish' all the missing entries some time soon. Not that they're particularly interesting - usual mix of training, art, dancing, diet, dog and daftness. |

Had a chance to attend a rehearsal for the Pina Baush company - we've seen them twice and they're absolutely brilliant ( the Wim Wenders film is very good too). However I dithered because it was the same night as an Indoor meet I was also considering and by the time I made my mind up that I'd rather go to the rehearsal all the places were taken. That'll learn me! |
