Annoyingly you don't get your wave time until quite close to the event so planning ahead can be tricky. I guess you need to check whether you can easily bring a bike or need to book it as there will be others doing the same thing I'm riding the full route this year. I've booked a hotel close to the start, as even riding from central London to the park for the start of the 46 took a lot longer than I'd imagined.
