I always run better in the cold and most of my training is undulating so secretly hoping for a pb but not admitting it to anyone...

I with you Looby Loo, got two PBs a half and 10k in snowy wet conditions!! I run faster to just get the run finished and out of the miserable weather, so if it's wet I'm not too worried :-)

Just thought I'd try and re-ignite some life into this thread...

I've signed up for Dec 2013 and yesterday recce'd part of the course. The Hayling Island bit and the 'main land' bit.

Despite the recent storm I felt that the going was still pretty good - hope it stays that way.

Anyone else getting excited about the event?

I absolutely loved it last year, such good fun! Looking forward to this year, treating it as a training run rather than a race - I'll be partaking of the booze and chocolate on offer again :)

I did the Pilgrim Marathon in September which is hilly and off road. I aim to be a bit faster here.

Quietly hoping to break 4hrs, so probably leave booze/choccies until afterwards....

Pompey Paul
What did you run Pilgrim in DF?

It's my local marathon so I of course think it is excellent :-)

Hi Pompey Paul!

I did Pilgrim in 4h23min. I came though halfway in just under 2hrs but the second half was tough. I am stronger now, I think, and if the wind is kind, sub 4 should be on!

I work in Pompey, and used to live there so know it well. I'm certainly familiar with the Pompey side of the course!

I have entered this race but a little daunted after looking at the "you tube" of the course. I see...
