Popular races which have guaranteed entry based on a qualifying time

There's the Gansett Marathon in the States - qualification is the only means of entry, and the times are 5mins faster than Boston. The race is usually the day before Boston as well.

Oh, that's an interesting one RWR. I'm trying to find ones where I can say to the missus "Look, I have to do this one, this year, because in a few years time I'll be too old and slow to do it". I like New England a lot. :-)G

Looks like it ndellar - the 500th and last finisher last year was 2:45. Elites only! :-)G

The Bath Half-Marathon has some kind of "good club runner" entry available after general entries have sold out.

Lol Dv. You've been doing some thread archeology- this is a real dinosaur. Gave up trying to run my fastest and went for running longer. Now barely doing anything other than fun plod. No caykes have been baked! :-O :-).G
