You couldn't make it up:- Chris Grayling, the former transport secretary who awarded a lucrative ferry contract to a firm that had no ferries, has been given a £100,000 job advising the owner of some of the UK’s top ports, it has emerged. I know I shouldn't swear, but bloody hell, talk about jobs for the boys. It beggars belief. |

It does. Other parties' politicians would be hauled over the coals with a demand to stand down. The Tories just dig their heels in. Once Cummings was allowed to stay after Durhamgate, it gave carte blanche for others to do exactly what they want. Durham was the test and now it's open season. The Tories are laughing at the peasants. Truly a feudal system.

I have to wonder who lives in the NE Somerset constituency of Jacob Rees-Mogg? This is the horrible man who blamed the residents of Grenfell Tower for their lack of common sense. He's now telling the public to stop carping on about the lack of testing capacity and instead praise the Govt for their increasing capabilities. This, from an odious tax-dodging epitome of the over privileged looking down on the common serf. Perhaps he owns vast swathes of towns and estates and all his tenants are the voting public, threatened with eviction if they vote against him..? |

[he also has a big enough family to be required to meet only six of them at any one time - I’m sure he will be fully compliant]

My mum used to joke about the area where we lived when I was young. 'If you kick one, they all limp', meaning they're all inter-related families. Maybe Rees-Mogg lives in a similar area..!? |

The daily death rate in the US is moving upwards again. I wonder what is going through the heads of the Trumpers who still stand by their man? |

Also: "Coronavirus: WHO says weekly cases in Europe eclipse March peak". I guess that means the second wave is officially here? (Yes I know the relative testing rates in the two time frames were probably a lot different but I can't see things improving much in the immediate future. Not really.) |

I think the latest daily deaths in Spain was 239. Very worrying. But Mogg says stopping 'carping' about lack of testing. This lot of incompetents really could not organise a piss-up in a brewery. |
