Pins and needles when running

Another friend had a stress fracture in her foot in May and has just got back from an 8k run and about ten minutes after the run is experiencing pins and needles in the place where the fracture occured. Coincidence, some thing to worry about or a bit of taper madness with her first half marathon only 13 days away....
