This one's the profit and loss (P&L) Happy not the P&D. :-)

I don't know the difference between this one and the Pfitzinger book you mention Mrs Jigs. But that was written in 1998 and must be long out of print. So presumably 17 years advance in sports science.. possibly ;-)

Thanks for the welcome, everyone!

Probably a bit late to use the training for the BUPA London 10k but may use it for Royal Parks half later in the year and see how it compares to some of Hanson's methods that I used last year.

Well week 1 on the multiple distance plan is done and dusted. 43.25 for 10k today, which is now a marker in the sand. Really tied up in the last mile, so am hoping the regular LT threshold sessions in the plan each week will help with that...

I'm buying it now through the Amazon link on Fetch. I love the P&D Advanced Marathoning Book.

I have now finished the "reading" phase of my Pfitz training. However, I am currently injured (various foot/ankle issues) and am then planning to pick up a Half Marathon schedule once I have rebuilt my running to something which looks like training.

First blog episode ... http://www.fetcheveryone.com/blog-view.php?id=70794

I reckon I need to start the schedule in early July in order to hit an Autumn half... will keep all updated and am interested on anyone who is doing anything from the book.

I have the book and have read it with interest. Do you follow the plans to the letter as the weekly mileage even the lowest one for the 5k seems very high?

The idea of the Pfitzinger plans is that you do follow them 'to the letter', however, they are all just underpinned by many general principles of scheduling so there should be no issue in amending it to suit your needs.

I intend to slightly re-jig the days of the schedule to fit better with other life commitments and also when I can benefit from group sessions etc.
