Would it help to have a "time aspect" for the Lazybones? e.g. When I sign up as a lazy bones I put in the number of times per week and time of day by which I expect to run e.g. Mon 7pm, Wed 9pm, Sat 11am, then my Pesterer knows when they need to get me by?

Or is it meant to be more pre-emptive than that? e.g.

Q. "Have you done your run yet today?"

A. "No, but I will do it at 11pm tonight."

In which case I don't hassle you until tomorrow morning (but if you were fibbing, of course I harrass you mercilessly?)

Yeah do that SoaPM, send everything twice, and then if they don't reply, send 3 fmails the next time and then 4 etc. :)

If your Pesterer hasn't pestered you yet, can you pester them to pester you? Or don't you know who your Pesterer is until they pester you? :-)G

Jeez, it sounds like it's gonna be boot-camp-esque !! I was hoping to do the sell-not-tell thing. Y'know, sympathise with how cr@p the weather is and then talk about the cool new Samolon folds into a pocket rainjacket they can buy as an incentive. Works for me!! ;-)

Nywanda - welcome to posting (I've seen you doing blog comments before, but not on threads, presumably!

I think this is gonna be quite boot-campish. Or just campish? :-)G

I've heard nothing from my pesterer either. 1st day back at school today and I'm tired (didn't sleep well last night). So I think I'll have a bit of a nap and then decide if I feel like a run later *yawn*

My inbox is empty too. Pherhaps we need another set of pesterers to pester the pesterers?
Ps Today is rest day for me.

About This Thread

Let's see if this works. There are two groups - the Pesterers and the Lazybones. If you need a bit of encouragement to get out for your run each day, join the Lazybones group. If you think you can shake the apathy out of someone, join the Pesterers group. Every day, each Lazybones will be assigned one or more Pesterers (depending on how the numbers work out) at random, and the rest is up to you.

As a Pesterer, you'll get an fmail each day telling you who to pester / encourage / help. Do your research on their user profile to see the sort of running they're doing. Fmail your Lazybones, or follow them round the website - keep at them, until they've either got their run done, or given you a good reason why not. Be nice though, it's not a license to act like a total git, and you might find that you can really help someone improve their running.

As a Lazybones, you accept that you are likely to be pestered. But you might also find help and support from a fellow runner. You accept that the advice you receive is personal opinion, and agree not to sue anybody if you knacker yourself. If you don't like being pestered, leave the group. Oh, and go for a run, lazy bones."
