A female runner I know suffered badly with Symphysis pubis dysfunction during her pregnancies (particularly the most recent one). This went away, as one would expect, when the babies were born and has not been a problem for several years since. However, the other day she was running on the beach, and experienced a very similar pain. It has remained with her since. Any ideas on what that might be? It doesn't sound familiar to me as a running injury. Thanks, wise Fetchies... |

If I were her I'd pee on a stick. Just to be sure..... Seriously. No idea but one of my hips was really sore when I was pregnant and I can still "feel" it about a mile into a run but it then eases off if I keep going. I blame Cuthbert for it, fat beggar lying awkwardly - it was fine between kids. *watches thread to see what next in case there's any useful tips to help with her hip* Also stop talking women about their nether regions. It's not polite. |

Another vote for gp or even better, after she's peed on the stick to be sure, search out a women's health physio. They specialise in rehabbing that sort of thing.

Thanks everyone. She's struggling to get a GP appointment any time soon, but I think one is booked.
